Vergent Products Lends Some Hands to the PPE Supply Effort

Vergent Products recently teamed up with Avid Product Development, a Lubrizol Company, to add extra assembly support for their innovative 3D printed face shield.  Engineers at Avid created a design for the frame of the face shield shortly after Colorado reported its first cases of COVID-19.  Upon completion of the design, Avid made it publicly available and shared it with other members of the HP 3D printing network so that the design could be ramped into production as quickly and widely as possible to support community needs for PPE on a broader scale.

Vergent Products is proud to lend our support in providing this product to local hospitals in Colorado, as well as dentists, dermatologists, and podiatrists.  Jay Dokter, CEO of Vergent said “our mission statement is ‘We make products that make a difference worldwide’ so we jumped at the chance to support this effort with our talented assembly labor workforce here in Loveland.  As a contract manufacturing firm, Vergent is very skilled at quickly learning our clients’ products and challenges, and then responding rapidly to help bring the product to market.”  It only took a few days from the first phone call with Avid to delivering the first box of 400 assembled face shield frames.  Vergent focuses on the medical device, military & aerospace, and industrial markets and has a 25-year history of problem-solving.  “We have seen every type of product need over the years, and are glad we can play a small part in helping bring Avid’s face shield design to the front line workers that are battling the virus every day” said Dokter.
